Mezz Mezzrow came out of prison in the early 40s & wrote his autobiography,
Really The Blues, started a record company called King Jazz & moved to France in the late 40s

of his time he traveled the world from Africa to Japan & became known as Ambassador Satch
on behalf of his efforts to introduce the creative music of America to the many peoples of Earth. His records led the charts in the 30s
& 40s, & he scored pop hits into the 60s with "Mack The Knife," "Hello Dolly," & "It's A Wonderful World." His greatness
as a musician & an American has never been surpassed, & his lifelong love of reefer
helped turn us all on to the wonders of weed & gave him the gift of grace & humility beyond measure.
'Like I said,' Pops closes, 'I never have liked a wrong harmony, going right back to my earliest days,
as a kid it just came natural. If I've got my horn in my hand then let's go.
Music's my language, on all those trips all over the world, maybe the musicians
can't speak with you, but play "Struttin' With Some Barbecue" & they'll know their parts & chime right in. I've got a million
happy memories. I'm satisfied with my work I play music you call it what you want to, I don't try to prove nothing.
