On The Road #21

Happy Holidays, everybody! I'm thinking of so many people at this time of year that I can't begin to start calling names, but special thoughts & prayers go out to my daughters Sunny and Celia and my granddaughter Beyonce in Detroit. And Happy Birthday memories of my idol and mentor, the great poet Charles Olson, born this day in 1910. And all the great New Orleans musicians born at holiday time, like Professor Longhair, Art Neville, George Porter Jr and Kermit Ruffins, to name just a handful. Where y'at, George?

I'm chilling in Amsterdam for the holidays, recovering from throwing my back out on a quick trip to London last week to celebrate Nick Smith's birthday with the characters at HeadPress and accept my appointment as Senior Editor for the HeadPress publishing empire under the direction of David Kerekes. I get to spend most of my time here in Holland before heading back to the States on January 24th, except for a fast visit to Murcia, Spain with Mark Ritsema to play a concert date on my daughter Celia's birthday, January 17.

My current schedule is posted below. The dates listed for the USA are preliminary projections as I'm just starting to get my itinerary together for the Spring, so stay tuned and updates will follow...
