While I was touring in the United States this summer and out of reach of radio production activities for several weeks, Henk Botwinik put together a series of special programs to keep our spot alive until I could send some shows from the USA. The first two revisited the Vurige Tongen (Fiery Tongues) International Poetry Festival at Ruigoord in June, when the Radio Free Amsterdam krewe joined Silvia and Rasta Robert of Radio Ruigoord to conduct a live broadcast of the festivities for their internet/pirate radio operation. (Our program from Vurige Tongen is archived as #38.) In the first half (program #43) we go straight to the stage for the opening shrieks of the flaming poetess called Sybil, some comments by Festival host Hans Plomp and program host Rasta Robert of Radio Ruigoord, a short set by myself with Mark Ritsema (unheard) on guitar, then a long and histrionic set by MC Kato that ends this show. Vurige Tongen continues on Program #44.
