The Radio Free Amsterdam krewe was invited to participate in the live broadcast from the Vurige Tongen International Poetry Festival at the venerable arts squat commune outside of Amsterdam called Ruigoord on May 14-15. Our friend Rasta Robert, whom we d worked with at the Balloon Party broadcast from Paradiso (Program #22), and the broadcast producer known as Silvia asked Henk, Larry and myself to join the Radio Ruigoord team for the live coverage of the poetry festival, and we ended up recording the whole stage presentation that day.

Our joint production with Radio Ruigoord starts off swinging with the Roomful of Blues, offers Opening Tokes with Rasta Robert, spins tunes by Dr.John, Little Freddie King, alternates cuts by featured jazz poets John Clarke and John Sinclair, talks with Clarke, and ends up with Silvia & Robert explaining the origins and meanings of the Fiery Tongues Festival. Two one-hour sets of stage performances from the festival can be heard as Programs #43 and 44.
