Will Dawson was a guest on our first recorded programs at the Homegrown Fantasy Coffeeshop. I had met Will in July 2004 in Clarksdale, Mississippi where he was engineering sessions for the first Afrissippi album at Jimbo Mathus's New Africa Studios, and then he had been in Amsterdam just when we started our radio project, so he knew how the shit was supposed to go. I talked to Will while I was in Oxford and he volunteered to produce a pair of shows for us at the Republic Coffee shop in Memphis on March 8th.

Like our very first shows in Amsterdam, the Republic Coffee shows were broadcast in the room to a live audience, and in the first hour we had a performance by Lynn Cardona & Mike Burkey, discussions with Memphians Adam Guerrero, Lynn Cardona, Paulette Regan, and Laurence Hall of Skinny-Dipping in America, another guest from the Amsterdam show, plus music by John Sinclair & D-Men, Afrissippi, Will's band Dawson & the Dinnerbells, Mr. Tater, Jimbo Mathus, and Andrew Byrd.
