Following a well-deserved two-week break from programming, our first show under the Radio Free Amsterdam banner takes us back to home base, the Coffeeshop Amnesia, where house managers Itay & Ronan proffer delicious Opening Tokes of the Cannabis Cup-winning Amnesia Haze. There's a new opening theme, Professor Longhair's original recording of "Big Chief," and the Re-Birth Brass Band gets things rolling before the artist Anthony Murrell makes his first appearance as a regular arts commentator on the Radio Show as Dr. Artemus Art. There's music by John Sinclair & His Blues Scholars, Danny Barker & Pud Brown, Roger & the Gypsies, a conversation with Aaron Cole about his band, the Electric Fans, and a couple of cuts from the Fans' new CD release, i Smokin' Toadi0 . The last selection is an historic live recording from the Detroit Artists Workshop in 1965 featuring Lyman Woodard's suite, "The Pimp's Vision," performed by the Workshop Music Ensemble. Stop Inc. does our closing theme this week, "Second Line."
