Our first successful all-live music show took place in the living room studio of drummer/guitarist/singer/composer Boyd Small, just off the Kinkerstraat. Boyd's friend and musical partner Monty Ahmanson, his neighbor Harmonica George and guitarist Denny Defloret joined in for a full hour of improvised blues and spontaneous conversation, including original music by Boyd, Monty and George and some blues classics, while George labored over the stove and a batch of barbequed pork shoulder. The vocal and sound levels fluctuated in this most informal setting, but it sounded pretty good in the end.
