Program #49 was originally broadcast live on WDET-FM in Detroit as part of the Re-Birth Radio Concert Series produced by Wendell Harrison & Pamela Wise and usually hosted by W. Kim Heron on Sunday nights. For our program, a concert by the Blues Scholars with Johnny Evans on tenor sax, Chris Rumel on bass and Tino Gross at the drums, our pal Willy Wilson sat in for W. Kim and conducted the interview segments with me, abetted by a very knowledgeable Pam Wise. The performance was so splendid that I submitted it to Henk to be aired as one of our radio shows while I was still on the road in the USA.
